Tragic Accident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh: 7 Sanitation Workers Killed, 2 Seriously Injured

A major road accident occurred on Saturday morning on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Haryana’s Nuh district, adjacent to Gurugram. According to reports, a speeding pickup truck struck a group of sanitation workers who were cleaning the expressway near the village of Ibrahimwas, in the Ferozepur Jhirka police station area.

There were 11 sanitation workers on duty at the time of the incident. The collision was so severe that seven workers-six women and one man-died on the spot, while two others were seriously injured. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains critical. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.

Eyewitnesses reported that the accident took place around 10 a.m. The speeding pickup truck rammed into the workers, causing a horrific scene with bodies and debris scattered across the highway. Local residents immediately alerted the police and helped transport the injured to the hospital.

After the incident, police, ambulances, and road safety teams arrived at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck fled the spot after the accident. Police have started legal proceedings against the unidentified driver and are reviewing CCTV footage to aid in the investigation. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination at the civil hospital.

The accident also led to a traffic jam on the expressway, which the police worked hard to clear.
