A tragic incident occurred on Sunday in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northwestern Pakistan, where a powerful explosion during a peace rally in Kabal town of Swat district left at least 7 people dead and 18 others critically injured. According to officials, the primary target of this attack was the Pakistani police.
The rally was organized by the local tribal council ‘Swat Aman Jirga’ to protest against the deteriorating security situation in the area and to demand peace, with hundreds of people participating. During the rally, a powerful explosion suddenly occurred, causing panic across the area. Initial investigations suggest it was a suicide attack, although official confirmation from security agencies is still awaited.
Immediately after the blast, rescue teams transported the injured to nearby hospitals, where the condition of several remains critical. Police, Rangers, and law enforcement agencies have cordoned off and sealed the entire area, initiating an investigation after collecting evidence from the spot with the help of forensic teams.
