Vocational training started for drug patients at Government Rehab centre

Mohali, April 8 : On the instructions by Deputy Commissioner Ms Komal Mittal, the district health department has started a vocational training course for patients at Government Drug de-addiction and Rehab centre in Sector 66 here today. Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain and Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Parwinderpal Kaur said that the district administration has taken fruitful steps to enhance the rehabilitation activities at the centre. They said that with the collaboration of Employment Generation department, a 15 day vocational training for patients has been started. During the course , drug patients will be imparted theoretical and practical knowledge about repair and maintainance of home appliances like Fridge, Mobile phone, AC, Coolers, Mixer Grinder. etc, which will help them in their rehabilitation and economic self-reliance after discharge from the centre. Around 20 patients took part in the session on first day. The officials said that apart from this, Yog session from CM Yogshalla group was also started.
