Rajasthan Tragedy: 10 Pilgrims Dead, Including 7 Children, After Returning from Khatu Shyam Temple

Dausa, Rajasthan – August 13, 2025 – Ten people, including seven children and three women, lost their lives in a devastating road accident in Rajasthan’s Dausa district on Wednesday morning. The victims were pilgrims returning from the famous Khatu Shyam temple in Sikar district when their pickup truck collided with a heavy container truck.

According to police, all the deceased were residents of Etah district in Uttar Pradesh. The collision was so severe that several passengers died instantly, while many others sustained serious injuries. At least 12 injured individuals have been admitted to hospitals, with the most critical cases referred to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the pickup truck, packed with pilgrims, was travelling towards Uttar Pradesh after the temple visit when it was struck head-on by the container truck in Dausa. The impact left the vehicle badly mangled, and rescue teams, along with local residents, worked quickly to pull victims from the wreckage.

Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana confirmed that emergency services rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.

The Khatu Shyam temple, a major pilgrimage site in Rajasthan, attracts thousands of devotees daily, with many travelling long distances from states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi. Unfortunately, overloaded vehicles and long overnight journeys often increase the risk of such tragic accidents.
