; Orange Alert Issued
Despite a bright sunny morning, residents of Punjab can expect relief from the scorching heat today, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange alerts for strong winds and possible rain across several districts.
According to the latest data released by the IMD, Punjab witnessed a drop of 0.5°C in the average maximum temperature, although it still remains close to the seasonal norm.
Among all districts, Bathinda recorded the highest temperature at 41.2°C, followed by Amritsar at 37.5°C, Ludhiana at 36.2°C, and Chandigarh at 35.8°C.
No rainfall was reported in any part of Punjab over the past 24 hours. The slight drop in temperature is attributed to moderate to strong winds blowing across the region, with wind speeds ranging between 15 to 30 km/h.
