Punjab Weather Update: State 3.5°C Cooler Than Normal, Temperatures to Rise by 2°C in Next 72 Hours

Amritsar, October 10, 2025 — Punjab is currently experiencing cooler-than-usual weather, with temperatures across the state averaging 3.5°C below normal. Despite a slight increase of 0.4°C in the past 24 hours, conditions remain significantly cooler due to recent rainfall and the impact of an active western disturbance.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Faridkot recorded the state’s highest temperature at 33.5°C, while most cities saw daytime highs below 30°C. Key readings include:

  • Ludhiana: 30.6°C

  • Patiala: 30.7°C

  • Bathinda: 31°C

  • Rupnagar: 30°C

Other major cities reported lower maximum temperatures:

  • Amritsar: 28.5°C

  • Pathankot: 29.3°C

  • Gurdaspur: 28.5°C

  • SBS Nagar: 28.5°C

  • Fazilka: 29.6°C

  • Ferozepur: 29°C

  • Hoshiarpur: 28.5°C

Meteorologists say the recent rainfall is the main reason behind the temperature drop, but no further rain is expected in the coming days. The weather department has issued no warnings, and temperatures are expected to return to near-normal levels gradually, with an estimated rise of around 2°C over the next 72 hours.
