The Punjab government has allowed state employees to take leave again. This change comes after the recent easing of military tensions between India and Pakistan.
According to the official order sent to all departments, employees are now free to apply for leave without restrictions. Earlier, a temporary leave ban had been imposed due to rising border tensions.
A few weeks ago, the situation between India and Pakistan became tense after a terror attack in Pulwama. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan. More than 100 militants were reportedly killed.
As a result, Pakistan responded with drone attacks along the border and even launched a few missiles. Because of these serious developments, Punjab and other states banned government staff from taking leave. This step helped keep all departments fully functional during the crisis.
Fortunately, both countries have now agreed to a ceasefire. Also, military action has slowed down. Because the situation is getting back to normal, the Punjab government has decided to lift the leave ban.
This move brings relief to thousands of government workers, many of whom had been waiting to take their scheduled leave. Departments will now function as they did before the emergency.
Overall, this decision marks an important shift. It shows that daily life and public services are returning to normal. As tensions ease, the state can now focus on development and public welfare again.
