Ludhiana: Former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains’ Car Targeted in Firing Incident

Ludhiana, Punjab – A major incident of firing has been reported in Ludhiana, where former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains’ car came under attack late last night. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Dehlon police station.

Family dispute behind the firing

According to preliminary information, the firing stemmed from an ongoing family dispute. Reports suggest that Simarjit Singh Bains had been engaged in a prolonged conflict with his brother, Paramjit Singh Bains. During this tension, Paramjit’s son, Jagjot, allegedly opened fire at Simarjit Singh.

At the time of the incident, Simarjit Singh was reversing his car outside his residence. Fortunately, he escaped unharmed, and no injuries were reported.

Police response

Speaking on the matter, Dehlon SHO Sukhjinder confirmed the incident but said that police have not received any formal complaint from either side so far. He added that legal action will be taken once a written complaint is filed.

Political intervention

The issue has now reached the Congress high command, which is reportedly making efforts to mediate and resolve the family dispute. Meanwhile, none of the family members have issued any public statement regarding the firing.

This development has created a stir in local political circles, as Simarjit Singh Bains remains a well-known figure in Punjab’s political landscape.
