₹14 Crore Gold and ₹5 Lakh Cash Looted in 18 Minutes from Jabalpur Bank

Jabalpur, August 12, 2025 — In one of the biggest heists in recent years, armed robbers looted over ₹14 crore worth of gold and ₹5 lakh in cash from the Khitoli branch of ESAF Small Finance Bank in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The daring daylight robbery lasted only 18 minutes.

According to Jabalpur Rural Additional SP Suryakant Sharma, the robbers made away with 14.8 kilograms of gold, valued at over ₹14 crore, along with ₹5 lakh in cash.

Timeline of the Heist
The gang entered the bank at 8:50 a.m. and left by 9:08 a.m. CCTV footage shows they arrived on two motorcycles, wearing helmets to conceal their identities.

Security Lapses
No security guard was posted at the bank at the time of the incident, though six employees were present. Shockingly, police were informed 45 minutes after the robbery. Authorities believe the delay in reporting gave the culprits a crucial head start.

Unusual Opening Time
Sources revealed that the bank normally opens at 10:30 a.m., but due to upcoming festivals, it had opened early at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the robbery.

Police have launched a manhunt to track down the robbers, reviewing CCTV footage and monitoring possible escape routes.
