“We Were Forced to Hide in Bunkers”: Zardari Exposes Pakistani Army’s Failures During India’s Operation Sindoor

Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has publicly exposed the Pakistani army’s shortcomings during India’s “Operation Sindoor,” revealing the panic that gripped Islamabad’s top leadership. The operation targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), starting with precision strikes on terror camps and escalating to Pakistani military installations.

The revelation came amid fresh details of the May operation, which not only dismantled terror networks but also sowed fear in Pakistan’s highest echelons. It followed the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent civilians were killed. India responded not just diplomatically but with decisive military action on the ground.

In a public address, Zardari admitted that upon learning of India’s retaliation, his military secretary rushed to inform him: “War has begun,” urging him to seek safety in a bunker immediately. Zardari claimed he refused to hide, but the statement underscores the tense atmosphere and the leadership’s concerns for their own security.

Operation Sindoor Shook Pakistan to Its Core

Launched on the morning of May 7, the Indian Armed Forces conducted precision strikes on at least nine terrorist sites deep inside Pakistan. When Pakistan attempted a military counter-response, India targeted Pakistani army installations, sending a clear message against cross-border terrorism. These attacks raised serious questions about Pakistan’s military preparedness and defense infrastructure.
