Trump Alleges Triple Sabotage at United Nations, Demands Full Secret Service Probe

New York, September 25, 2025 — U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that a deliberate conspiracy was staged against him during his visit to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He described three unusual incidents — an escalator failure, a teleprompter malfunction, and a sound system breakdown — as a “triple sabotage” aimed at undermining his speech and America’s global image.

Trump’s Allegations

Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday, posting a lengthy and angry statement. He wrote:

“Yesterday, a truly disgraceful incident took place at the United Nations — not one, not two, but three very disgusting occurrences! This was no coincidence; this was sabotage, three times over. The UN should be ashamed of itself.”

He said the issues disrupted his address and appeared to be part of a broader plan to embarrass the United States on the world stage.

The Three Incidents

  1. Escalator Malfunction – As Trump and First Lady Melania Trump ascended to the main platform, the escalator suddenly stopped. Trump claimed, “It was a miracle we didn’t fall. We held onto the railing, otherwise we could have tumbled down those steel steps. This was no accident.” He cited reports that some UN staffers were seen joking about the incident.

  2. Teleprompter Failure – During his global policy speech, the teleprompter allegedly failed for nearly 15 minutes. “First the escalator, now the teleprompter! What kind of place is this?” Trump remarked, though he added that his speech ultimately received strong applause worldwide.

  3. Sound System Breakdown – Trump said the auditorium’s audio system failed, leaving many unable to hear him without translation earpieces. “After the speech, Melania told me she didn’t hear a single word. This was not a mistake; it was a coordinated triple sabotage,” he insisted.

White House Reaction

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the incidents “unacceptable,” warning that if anyone deliberately stopped the escalator while the President and First Lady were on it, “this is a serious matter.” She demanded accountability, writing on X that responsible staff should be “immediately dismissed and investigated.”

Call for Investigation

Trump announced he would send a full account of the events to the UN Secretary-General, demanding that all security recordings — especially the escalator emergency stop footage — be preserved.

“The Secret Service is now involved. Hopefully, the truth will come out soon,” Trump said.

The allegations have raised fresh tensions between the White House and the UN, with Trump branding the world body “incompetent” and accusing it of trying to disrupt his leadership on a global platform.
