Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have intensified their operations following a recent terror attack in Pulwama. Within 24 hours, six militants were killed in two encounters. The search continues for eight more, still believed to be active in the region.
Senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and CRPF held a joint press conference today. They described the operations as a major success, made possible by accurate intelligence inputs.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K., stated:
“We carried out two operations in the past 48 hours—one in Keren and the other in Tral. Six militants were neutralized. We are committed to ending the terror ecosystem in this region.”
CRPF IG Mitesh praised the professionalism and coordination among the agencies involved.
“I congratulate our troops and all agencies. The success reflects their teamwork and precise execution,” he said.
He also acknowledged public cooperation:
“People have supported us throughout. Their backing shows they want peace and an end to terrorism.”
Despite the success, officials confirmed that eight terrorists remain unaccounted for. Search operations have been intensified in key districts. Surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts have also been stepped up.
Security forces stressed that public support is vital in the fight against terrorism. They promised to continue their efforts until peace is fully restored in the Union Territory.
The joint operations mark a major success for Indian security agencies. With better coordination and local support, authorities are confident in their mission to dismantle terror networks across Jammu and Kashmir.
