A senior Pakistani leader has issued a startling admission: Pakistan-based terror outfits have conducted attacks from Delhi’s Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir in India.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, former Prime Minister of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), admitted during a recent address to the PoJK legislative assembly that terrorist organizations based in Pakistan have launched attacks inside India, explicitly citing incidents from “the Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir”. This confession stands in contrast to Pakistan’s long-standing denials of involvement in cross-border terrorism, frequently accused by India.
Haq’s comments implicated Pakistan in the recent November 10 car bomb attack in Delhi that killed 15 people. The attack’s mastermind, Dr. Umar-un-Nabi, is a member of a “white-collar” terrorist module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), which was exposed in Faridabad days before the attack.
Haq’s mention of attacks “in the forests of Kashmir” appears to refer to the April 22 incident in Pahalgam’s Basaran Valley, where Pakistani militants targeted tourists over their religion, resulting in 26 fatalities. This attack triggered India’s “Operation Sindoor,” a military move targeting terrorist bases across Pakistan and PoJK.
A video clip of Haq’s speech, delivered after he lost a no-confidence motion on Monday, has gone viral on social media. In the clip, he warns, “If you continue to soak Balochistan in blood, we will strike India from Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir, and by God’s grace, our Shaheen (eagles) have done just that. They can’t even count the bodies yet.”
This is not the first time Haq has made provocative statements against India. In April, he threatened a bloody revenge for alleged Indian actions in Balochistan, saying, “You play Holi with the blood of Pakistanis in Balochistan, and you’ll pay the price from Delhi to Kashmir.”
