Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for a grand welcome for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be visiting the state on May 2, 2025, to mark the restart of Amaravati capital development. During a teleconference with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders, Naidu urged that the event be a success and emphasized that Amaravati represents self-respect for the Telugu people.

Amaravati: A Symbol of Pride for the People

Naidu highlighted the importance of Amaravati, urging every citizen to take pride in the capital city. He compared the creation of Amaravati to building a proud home for a family, stressing that a capital city is a key driver of state revenue, similar to how Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai function for their respective states. He also expressed confidence that Amaravati would generate significant revenue for Andhra Pradesh, supporting the state’s economy.

Focus on Decentralized Development

The Chief Minister pointed to the formation of educational institutions in North Andhra, Coastal areas, and Rayalaseema since 2014 as part of the NDA’s policy of decentralized development. He emphasized that a well-developed capital city would ensure equal development across all regions. He called Amaravati “the soul of the state” and affirmed its role in generating abundant revenue.

Rayalaseema to Become a Logistics Hub

Naidu also shared plans for the development of industrial parks across the state. The government will soon begin establishing industrial parks in all 175 constituencies, with an emphasis on creating opportunities under the vision of “One Family, One Entrepreneur.” Additionally, the construction of the Rayalaseema steel plant and the development of Visakhapatnam as an economic capital were highlighted as key steps in strengthening the state’s infrastructure. Tirupati will also be developed as a spiritual hub.

He mentioned that large-scale investments, such as ₹1,00,000 crore from ArcelorMittal and other companies, will boost the region’s economy. The planned steel plant in Visakhapatnam will make the area a leader in steel production, further supporting the state’s industrial growth.

Development Plans for Rayalaseema

Naidu outlined initiatives in defense, electronics, automobiles, drones, satellite launching, and green energy as part of the vision for Rayalaseema. He also mentioned the construction of highways and airports to better connect Rayalaseema with cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad, positioning the region as a future logistics hub.

Addressing Opposition and Promoting Progress

The Chief Minister cautioned against negative forces attempting to mislead the public. He emphasized that farmers voluntarily provided land for the construction of Amaravati and are being made stakeholders in the development. He assured that the development of industries in the state will lead to large-scale employment opportunities for the youth, alongside improvements in transportation and infrastructure.

Naidu also warned against conspiracies that seek to defame the state’s development efforts. He called on MLAs and Ministers to communicate the government’s positive actions to the public and emphasized that despite challenges, the state remains committed to welfare and development.

Fulfilling Election Promises

Naidu pointed out that the government had already fulfilled several key promises made during the election campaign. These include the allocation of funds for the Polavaram project, sanctioning the Visakhapatnam railway zone, and securing ₹11,400 crore for the steel plant. He highlighted welfare schemes for fishermen, SC categorization, ration provisions, pensions, and the supply of three gas cylinders. Additionally, the government issued a DSC notification for 16,347 teacher posts and will soon provide investment support to farmers under the ‘Annadata’ scheme.

Teleconference with NDA Leaders

The teleconference was attended by leaders from the Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena Party, and BJP, who discussed the upcoming event and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the capital city’s development.
