New Delhi, July 28, 2025 — The sixth day of the Parliament’s Monsoon Session was disrupted by intense uproar in the Lok Sabha, forcing Speaker Om Birla to suspend proceedings until noon. The disruption began as soon as the session started at 11:00 AM, with opposition members raising slogans during the Question Hour.
Speaker Om Birla, visibly angered by the continuous disruption, addressed the House sternly. “Members must not forget the decorum of the Lok Sabha,” he said, criticizing the Opposition for repeatedly disturbing the proceedings. Despite his warnings, the uproar continued, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the House until 12 PM.
Simultaneously, the Rajya Sabha proceedings were also adjourned due to similar disturbances.
The heated atmosphere in Parliament comes amid anticipation of a debate on India’s military operation named ‘Operation Sindoor’, launched in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The incident has heightened political tensions and is expected to dominate discussions throughout the session.
Both ruling and opposition parties have been at odds over the government’s handling of the security situation in Kashmir, with several MPs demanding clarifications and accountability.
As the Monsoon Session progresses, disruptions have become a frequent feature, reflecting the growing discord between the treasury and opposition benches. The government has listed multiple key legislative and national security issues for discussion, but repeated adjournments have impacted the Parliament’s productivity.
