Major Accident in China: Trial Train Runs Over Workers, 11 Dead So Far
A tragic accident occurred in China on Thursday when a trial train hit a group of railway workers, resulting in multiple casualties. According to reports, 11 workers have died, while several others were injured.
The incident took place at Luoyangzhen Station in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province in southwest China. Early Thursday morning, a test train collided with track maintenance workers who were present on the railway line.
According to a report by Reuters, the train — number 55537 — was conducting inspections related to earthquake monitoring equipment. While approaching a curve inside the Luoyang Town Railway Station area, the train struck workers who were on the tracks, leading to the fatal accident.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, and rescue operations are underway.
