In a major move aimed at supporting Punjab’s trade and industry sectors, Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, made several key announcements during an event in Patiala.
While laying the foundation stone of the Maharaja Agrasen Memorial in Nabha, Kejriwal declared that a Business Board will be established at both the state and district levels. This board will address the concerns of traders and suggest improvements in government policies.
Kejriwal assured traders that any harassment by MLAs or police officials will not be tolerated. He emphasized that the AAP government is committed to ensuring the safety and rights of traders, allowing them to conduct business with honesty and confidence, without fear.
The event also featured an announcement about the renovation of the historic Kali Mata Temple in Patiala. Plans include reopening the main entrance, restarting the adjacent lake, improving facilities for devotees, and enhancing the community kitchen (langar).
CM Bhagwant Mann added that all temple-related issues will be resolved promptly.
Highlighting AAP’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption and drugs, Kejriwal mentioned the recent arrest of an AAP MLA on corruption charges. He affirmed that no one—regardless of position—will be spared if found guilty.
