Katy Perry Confirms Relationship with Justin Trudeau, Shares Adorable Photos from Japan Trip
Pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have officially confirmed their relationship after months of speculation. On December 6, Perry shared a series of photos with her partner Justin, giving fans a glimpse into their recent trip to Japan. The couple captured several memorable moments, including a cute selfie and a short video of them enjoying sushi and exploring Tokyo together.
This is the first time Perry has openly posted multiple pictures with Trudeau. The pair were first seen together publicly in October, but their relationship reportedly began earlier this year.
Interestingly, the confirmation came shortly after former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida hinted at their relationship. On December 3, during Perry and Trudeau’s visit to Tokyo, the couple met Kishida and his wife Yuko. Kishida later shared a photo of the four standing next to a Christmas tree, referring to Perry as Trudeau’s partner.
Kishida wrote that Trudeau, the former Canadian PM, visited Japan with his partner and joined them for lunch. He also recalled his previous collaborations with Trudeau when both served as national leaders, including working together on the Japan–Canada Action Plan. Kishida expressed happiness that their friendship continues.
Trudeau also praised Perry during the visit, appreciating the continued bond between the countries and acknowledging shared diplomatic memories from his time in office.
Reports suggest that Perry and Trudeau started dating earlier this year. They were first spotted in July walking their dogs together in Canada. Both had recently separated from their former partners—Perry parted ways with Orlando Bloom in June, while Trudeau announced his separation from Sophie Grégoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
A source close to the couple told People magazine that Trudeau had been interested in Perry since their dates in Montreal and even visited her in California during her tour break. The couple was previously photographed together on October 25 in Paris during Perry’s 41st birthday celebration, where they were seen holding hands and smiling as they exited a cabaret show.
With Perry’s latest Instagram posts, the couple has now made their relationship public, and fans are buzzing with excitement over their newly confirmed romance.
