Former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Reports confirm the cancer has spread to his bones. His condition is now considered very serious.
Biden recently went for medical tests after having trouble while urinating. Doctors found aggressive cancer cells. The disease had already reached his bones by the time of diagnosis. His office shared an update saying that his family is now discussing treatment options.
Doctors gave Biden a Gleason score of 9. This score helps measure how fast prostate cancer is spreading. A score of 9 means the cancer is in an advanced stage. It also shows that it may be harder to treat.
Biden is 82 years old. In 2023, while still in office, he had a small lesion removed from his chest. At that time, doctors said the cancerous tissue had been removed successfully. No further treatment was needed then. But now, his health is in a much more dangerous condition.
Former President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump have offered support. “We wish the former President a fast recovery,” Trump said.
However, Trump’s ally Laura Loomer caused controversy online. She claimed that Biden has been very sick since July last year. She even said he might only have “two months to live.” Loomer accused Democrats of hiding his health problems from the public.
Biden had already decided not to run for president in 2024. His health situation now gives more reasons for that choice. The White House has not made a new statement yet.
As his family looks into possible treatment options, the public is waiting for more updates.
