Elon Musk Attacking Donald Trump Is a Big Mistake, Warns US Vice President

Washington, June 8, 2025 – United States Vice President JD Vance has issued a sharp warning to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, stating that Musk is making a “big mistake” by targeting President Donald Trump through a series of aggressive social media posts. This warning comes as tensions between Musk and Trump escalate, raising concerns within the Republican Party about the impact on upcoming legislative efforts and party unity.

In a Friday interview, Vance sought to downplay the severity of Musk’s recent public attacks but admitted the posts stem from Musk’s emotional reaction to what he called a “public fallout between the world’s richest man and the world’s most powerful man.”

“I hope Elon eventually comes back to reason,” Vance said. “This isn’t like him, but clearly, he’s very upset right now.” The Vice President’s remarks reflect growing unease among GOP leaders who are watching what was once a close relationship between Musk and Trump deteriorate into a high-profile feud.

The situation took a more serious turn after Trump reportedly referred to Musk as “bitter” and “sarcastic,” while also threatening to cut off federal contracts awarded to Musk’s companies—including Tesla, Starlink, and SpaceX. The President’s comments triggered a flood of retaliatory posts from Musk, including critiques of Trump’s tax reforms and federal spending bills.

Musk even suggested that Trump should face impeachment and, without evidence, accused the government of hiding information about Trump’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. This inflammatory rhetoric prompted renewed scrutiny and further strained the already fragile political landscape.

Amid this escalating conflict, several prominent Republicans have urged both men to tone down their rhetoric. “I hope this clash doesn’t distract us from the important work we need to accomplish,” said Republican Representative Dan Newhouse from Washington. Texas Senator Ted Cruz echoed similar optimism, expressing hope that the feud could still be resolved without derailing party objectives.

Political insiders warn that prolonged animosity between Musk and Trump could complicate the Republican Party’s legislative priorities, particularly around massive tax and border security bills. Once seen as allies, Musk and Trump’s relationship now appears severely fractured, with ripple effects being felt across political and business sectors.

As the GOP prepares for critical legislative sessions and the 2026 midterms, leaders are keen to prevent this billionaire-versus-president drama from becoming a roadblock.
