The results of the District Council (Zila Parishad) and Block Samiti elections are being announced across Punjab today. As per the updates available till 3:45 PM, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged as the clear frontrunner at both levels, while the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Congress remain locked in a close contest for the second position. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be struggling significantly.

According to the latest trends, AAP has strengthened its grip on grassroots politics in Punjab, registering a strong performance in rural areas. While the Akali Dal and Congress have managed to secure wins in several regions, they have so far been unable to match AAP’s lead. For the BJP, the results so far indicate a major setback.
