New Delhi witnessed panic on Monday morning, August 18, after three schools in Dwarka received bomb threat emails, prompting immediate evacuations and emergency security checks.
The first warning was sent to Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, followed shortly by similar threats targeting Modern Convent School in Sector 4 and Shri Ram World School. The emails claimed that bombs had been planted on the campuses and warned they would be blown up.
Officials acted swiftly, moving students and staff out of the buildings as a precaution. The Delhi Fire Service confirmed the evacuation, while police units and bomb disposal squads were deployed to all three schools. Security cordons were established, and teams conducted thorough inspections of the premises.
The threats come amid a concerning trend of repeated bomb hoaxes in Delhi schools in recent months. Although previous alerts have turned out to be false, authorities say they cannot take chances and continue to respond with full-scale security measures.
Investigations are underway to trace the source of the threatening emails. Police have yet to determine if the three messages were connected or sent by the same individual. Meanwhile, parents and school authorities remain on edge as Delhi faces recurring disruptions caused by such scares.
