Amritsar, July 24, 2025 — The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rainfall in three northern districts of Punjab—Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, and Gurdaspur—amid ongoing monsoon activity in the neighboring state of Himachal Pradesh.

Despite scattered rainfall across many parts of Punjab on Wednesday, the state’s average maximum temperature rose by 3.4°C, nearing normal seasonal levels. Bathinda emerged as the hottest city, recording 36.5°C, followed by Patiala at 33.6°C, Ludhiana at 32.8°C, Gurdaspur at 31°C, and Amritsar at 30.9°C.

  • Ferozepur: 16 mm

Rain Expected to Return from July 28

The IMD has forecasted that a new phase of rainfall will begin late on the night of July 27 or early July 28, with increased activity likely in Punjab’s northern and border districts due to monsoon currents from Himachal Pradesh. Other regions in Punjab may also experience scattered to moderate showers during this period.

City-Wise Weather Forecast for July 24:
