Social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, has gone down across India, leaving millions of users facing disruptions. Outage tracking website Downdetector reported over 1,200 complaints by 5:05 pm IST, as users struggled to access their feeds, log in, or use key features on both Android and iOS devices.
The outage affected the main website (x.com) as well as all major apps, causing problems not just for Indian users but for people in several other countries as well, including the United States. While the precise cause remains unclear, several other websites experienced similar issues at the same time, suggesting a possible wider internet infrastructure problem.
By Tuesday evening, frustration was widespread on social media as thousands continued to report blank timelines, login failures, and the inability to post or view content. As of the latest updates, no official statement has been issued on when service would be fully restored.
