“Have Some Shame, You Only Have 2 Hours Left to Live”: Pakistani Actress Lashes Out at Javed Akhtar, Mentions Naseeruddin Too
Pakistani television actress Bushra Ansari has openly criticized Indian lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, accusing him of spreading hatred even in the final years of his life. She claimed that Akhtar, who once struggled to find a home in Mumbai, is now inciting people and showing unnecessary hostility toward Pakistan.
In a recent statement, Bushra expressed her frustration, saying, “Have some shame. You only have two hours left to live, and even now you are talking nonsense.” Referring to Naseeruddin Shah, she said, “Naseeruddin is silent, but Javed is giving Pakistan unnecessary advice. He doesn’t even believe in God.”
She also shared a personal experience, saying that a young Indian woman recently met her with great affection, and that Indian people are not bad — it’s just certain individuals who are stirring up trouble. “People are not evil, but some individuals are destroying everything,” she added.
“He’s Just Looking for a Reason to Speak”
Without naming names, Bushra further commented, “These so-called intellectuals just need an excuse to speak. He didn’t even get a rental house in Mumbai. To maintain his relevance, he can say anything. I don’t even know what he’s talking about. Somebody needs to feel ashamed. You’ve only got two hours left to live, and still, you keep making such absurd statements.”
Indirect Dig at Sonu Nigam and Others
The article also asked readers their opinion on Sonu Nigam’s controversial remarks. Bushra criticized celebrities who, according to her, are either afraid or greedy and remain silent. “People like Naseeruddin Shah just sit silently. They should keep their opinions to themselves if they can’t speak up with integrity,” she said. “Whether you believe in God or not, Allah will question you. Why should we care what you think Pakistan should or shouldn’t do?”
“Indian People Are Not Bad”
Bushra called Indian TV host Arnab Goswami mentally disturbed, stating, “He is always fighting.” She reiterated that her experience with ordinary Indian citizens has been positive and warm. Her message: “It’s not the people; it’s those few who are spreading hate and ruining everything.” Her comments were posted in a video on the platform review.pk.
Javed Akhtar’s Ongoing Criticism of Pakistan
Javed Akhtar has made several statements against Pakistan, especially after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Speaking at an event in Mumbai, he said that Kashmiris are Indian and accused Pakistan of spreading false narratives. “They claim Kashmiris are Pakistani at heart — that’s a lie,” he asserted. Akhtar has also previously tweeted in favor of banning Pakistani artists in India.
