“We’ll Go to Gaza for Peace… But America Must Be Uprooted”: Pakistan’s Fiery Response to Trump’s Plan

Pakistan has offered troops for Gaza peacekeeping under Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan but with a stark condition: no Hamas disarmament. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated Pakistan is ready to join the proposed International Stability Force (ISF) only if its mandate excludes neutralizing Hamas, framing it strictly as a peace maintenance role.

Speaking to journalists, Dar described the proposal as “highly sensitive.” He emphasized Islamabad’s support for peacekeeping, not enforcement, saying: “I have made it clear that if the mandate does not involve disarming Hamas or making enforcement arrangements, Pakistan will gladly participate. This is the responsibility of the Palestinian Authority or any government in power. Our role will be limited to supporting them in maintaining peace.”

US Welcomes Offer, Seeks Clarifications

On December 19, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed Pakistan’s troop offer for the ISF under Trump’s plan, which aims to rebuild Gaza and establish lasting peace. Asked about a formal agreement, Rubio responded: “We are very thankful for Pakistan’s offer, or at least for considering it. I think we need answers to some more questions from them before demanding any firm commitment.”

Rubio expressed confidence in broader support, adding: “I am confident that many nation-states acceptable to all parties in this conflict are ready to step forward and be part of this stability force.”

Trump’s ambitious initiative has drawn mixed reactions, with Pakistan balancing willingness to contribute against protecting its stance on Palestinian militancy.
