Trump’s Plane Narrowly Avoids Mid-Air Collision While En Route to London
Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s aircraft narrowly escaped a potential mid-air collision while flying over New York on its way to London, according to reports.
The incident occurred when Trump’s jet came dangerously close to Spirit Airlines Flight 1300, which was traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Boston. Both planes were flying at the same altitude above Long Island, raising serious concerns about air traffic safety.
According to the Daily Mail, Trump’s pilot quickly issued a warning to the Spirit Airlines crew, urging them to change course immediately. Flight radar data later indicated that the two aircraft were separated by around 11 miles, but the close encounter still sparked significant discussion on social media, with many calling it a near miss that could have ended in disaster.
Despite the tense moment in the air, Trump’s flight continued as planned, and he arrived in London late Tuesday night for his second official state visit. Upon arrival, he met with King Charles at Windsor Castle, where strict security arrangements had been put in place. More than 1,600 police officers were deployed in anticipation of protests organized by the “Stop Trump Coalition.”
During the visit, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed optimism about strengthening ties between the United States and the United Kingdom. Discussions are expected to cover economic cooperation, billions of dollars in investments, trade tariffs, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Trump’s state visit is seen as a pivotal moment in shaping the future of transatlantic relations, as both nations seek to deepen their partnership amid global uncertainty.
