Amid escalating tensions with European countries, US President Donald Trump has reaffirmed America’s unwavering commitment to NATO. He stated that the United States will always stand with NATO, regardless of whether its allies support it or not.
Trump once again made bold remarks about NATO and European nations. He claimed that China and Russia fear only America, and without the US, NATO is nothing. Trump emphasized that without American support, NATO would lose all its strength. This statement comes at a time when discussions are heating up over Greenland between the US and European countries. He reiterated that America will always stand with NATO, even if other member states do not.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Donald Trump targeted European countries. He said that before he became president, most NATO nations were not fulfilling their responsibilities. At that time, many countries were spending only 2% of their GDP on defense, forcing the United States to bear the burden. Trump described America as foolishly carrying this load. He claimed that due to his pressure, NATO countries increased defense spending to 5%, which was previously considered impossible.
Trump clearly stated that without America, countries like Russia and China would have no fear of NATO. According to him, without US intervention, Russia would have already captured all of Ukraine by now. Trump said America’s role is most crucial in maintaining global stability. He also repeated that China and Russia respect the America he made great again. Trump believes NATO’s strength comes not from its unity, but from America’s presence.
Referencing the Ukraine war, Trump claimed his efforts ended several wars and saved millions of lives. He said he single-handedly stopped eight wars. However, he expressed frustration that he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize despite this. Citing Norway, Trump said winning the prize isn’t important—what matters is that lives were saved. He also questioned whether NATO countries would come to America’s aid if needed. Despite this, he reiterated that America will always stand with NATO.
This statement follows a warning from the Danish Prime Minister about the potential breakup of NATO over Greenland. Trump’s remarks have sparked a new debate on NATO’s role and global security.
