Trump Slams Putin After Russia Launches Largest Airstrike on Ukraine

Massive Russian Assault on Ukraine Amid Peace Talks

In a shocking escalation of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Russia launched its largest air assault yet on Ukrainian cities over the weekend. According to Ukrainian officials, over 367 drones and missiles were fired by Russian forces between Saturday night and Sunday morning, targeting more than 30 towns and villages. The attacks left at least 12 people dead and dozens injured. Despite ongoing international efforts toward peace negotiations, the strikes marked a brutal intensification of the conflict.

Trump Condemns Putin: “Something Is Wrong With That Man”

Reacting strongly to the attacks, former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed deep frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking to reporters at Morristown Airport in New Jersey on Sunday, Trump said he was “very unhappy” with Putin’s actions and questioned his current state of mind. “We were trying to talk peace, and he’s launching rockets? That’s not right. He’s killing people — something has happened to that man,” Trump remarked.

Trump Warns Putin: Taking Ukraine Could Lead to Russia’s Collapse

In a stern warning, Trump said that if Putin aims to take over all of Ukraine, it could mark the beginning of Russia’s downfall. “If he wants the whole of Ukraine, it will be the start of the end for Russia,” Trump warned, suggesting that such aggression would backfire politically and economically on the Kremlin.

Ukraine Claims to Have Shot Down Hundreds of Incoming Threats

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that it successfully intercepted 266 drones and 45 missiles, although many areas still suffered significant damage. The capital Kyiv and other cities experienced loud explosions, with emergency services deployed across affected zones. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that over 30 different regions had been struck and that rebuilding efforts would be massive.

Zelensky Criticizes U.S. and West Over Silence

Frustrated by the lack of a stronger response, Zelensky lashed out at the United States and other Western countries. “The world can go on vacation, but wars don’t stop,” Zelensky said. He added that America’s silence is only emboldening Putin. His comments reflect growing disappointment over perceived international inaction as Ukraine continues to face severe attacks.

Trump’s Failed Peace Efforts: Putin Skips Scheduled Talks

Trump also disclosed that he had recently spent nearly two hours on the phone with Putin in an attempt to revive peace efforts. Additionally, he said he reached out to Zelensky to urge both sides to participate in proposed peace talks in Turkey. However, Trump confirmed that Putin refused to join the talks on the agreed date, calling it a “major blow to any hopes for peace.”
