Trump Slams Illegal Immigrants After Murder of Indian National in Texas
U.S. President Donald Trump has vowed to end what he called the “days of leniency” toward illegal immigrants, following the brutal killing of an Indian national in Dallas, Texas. The incident, in which Chandramouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah was murdered by a Cuban migrant, has sparked outrage and renewed debate over immigration policies in the United States.
Last week, Chandramouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old hotel manager of Indian origin, was attacked and killed by Yordanis Cobos-Martínez, a Cuban national with a violent criminal history. Both men worked at the same hotel, Downtown Suites in Dallas.
According to reports, Cobos-Martínez, armed with a knife, chased Nagamallaiah and carried out a horrific assault that ended in decapitation. A video circulating on social media shows the Cuban suspect relentlessly pursuing the victim before killing him in front of Nagamallaiah’s wife and son.
Reacting to the killing, President Trump took to his Truth Social platform and wrote:
“I have been informed of the horrific murder of a respected man, Chandramouli Nagamallaiah, brutally killed in Dallas, Texas by an illegal alien from Cuba—something that should never have happened in our country. This tragedy occurred in front of his wife and son.”
Trump pledged that his administration would adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward criminal illegal immigrants.
“Rest assured, under my administration, the days of leniency for these criminal illegal aliens are over! Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Border Czar Tom Homan, and many others in my administration are working tirelessly to make America safe again. This criminal, now in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and charged with first-degree murder,” he added.
Trump also blamed the Biden administration for allowing dangerous individuals to remain in the U.S. He noted that Cobos-Martínez had previously been arrested for serious crimes, including child sexual abuse, car theft, and false imprisonment. However, due to U.S. deportation challenges with Cuba, he was released back into American society.
“Cuba refused to take back this vile individual, and under Joe Biden’s leadership, he was let loose in our country. That ends now,” Trump declared.
The murder has reignited political debate over illegal immigration and public safety in America. Trump’s comments signal that his administration plans to take a far tougher approach than his predecessor when it comes to handling migrants with criminal records.
For the Indian community in the U.S., the killing has been particularly shocking, with many calling for stronger protections for immigrant workers.
