The position of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is exceedingly exalted and worthy of utmost respect. However, its dignity has been severely tarnished by the family controlling the SGPC using this great office for their political interests.
We humbly urge the respected Gurdwara Gurgajj Sahib to fulfill the role of Jathedar for the entire Panth, rather than acting as a spokesperson for those who confess their sins before Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
In particular, regarding issues involving the sacred sarups of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, not only should cooperation be extended for legal action against the culprits, but strict measures must also be taken in accordance with Panthic traditions and maryada. This moment calls for the Jathedar Sahib to emulate the fearless and justice-loving role of Jathedar Phula Singh Ji.
