According to local authorities, the small plane was taking off when it suddenly lost control and plunged directly onto a group of trucks parked near the airfield. Eyewitnesses described a huge explosion and a fireball erupting upon impact, engulfing both the aircraft and nearby vehicles in flames.
“The fire was so intense that thick black smoke could be seen from miles away,” said one witness. Photos and videos circulating on social media show billowing clouds of smoke rising from the crash site, with emergency crews rushing to contain the inferno.
Both individuals on board the aircraft died at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending family notification. Several 18-wheelers and trailers were completely destroyed, leaving behind a charred wreckage that stretched across the crash site.
Firefighters from the Fort Worth Fire Department battled the flames for hours before finally bringing the situation under control. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a joint investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
Authorities are expected to examine factors such as engine malfunction, weather conditions, and possible pilot error. Local police have cordoned off the area as investigators collect debris and analyze flight data.
In a separate incident on the same day, a helicopter crashed near Huntington Beach, California, injuring five people — including two passengers who were onboard the aircraft. Emergency services responded swiftly, and all injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The two accidents have reignited concerns about small aircraft safety in the United States, prompting aviation experts to call for stricter maintenance and training standards.
