T20 World Cup Drama: Will ICC Act Against Pakistan? Ex-Chairman Ehsan Mani Slams ICC

Islamabad/Dubai, February 3, 2026: The India-Pakistan dispute over the 2026 T20 World Cup has taken a dramatic turn. After the Pakistan government ordered the PCB to boycott matches against India, the cricket world is buzzing. Former ICC Chairman Ehsan Mani stunned everyone with a bold statement on this serious issue.

Mani stated plainly that the ICC cannot penalize or ban the Pakistan Cricket Board. He argued that following government orders is not illegal. Questioning ICC’s “double standards,” Mani pointed out: if India can refuse to tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy citing government stance, how can action be taken against Pakistan?

He further accused the ICC of complete failure in resolving the matter, calling it a “mute spectator” watching the spectacle. The ICC has not taken any official tough steps yet, but the next 48 hours are seen as critical for the World Cup’s future and the India-Pakistan match. If Pakistan stands firm, the ICC may need major changes to the tournament format or schedule.
