Suicide Car Bomb Attack on Pakistani Army Camp Kills 7 Soldiers Near Afghan Border

A major suicide bombing struck Pakistan’s military on Friday, killing seven soldiers in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali district, near the Afghan border. The attack was reportedly carried out by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to officials, a suicide bomber attempted to drive an explosive-laden vehicle into a military camp. However, the vehicle crashed into a wall before reaching its target, triggering a massive explosion that resulted in multiple casualties.

Footage circulating on social media shows thick plumes of smoke rising from the Pakistani Army camp shortly after the blast. The location of the attack, North Waziristan, has long been a hotbed of militant activity and remains a sensitive area given its proximity to Afghanistan.

This attack comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Reports indicate that dozens of Pakistani soldiers have been killed in recent cross-border incidents. Pakistan has also claimed to have launched retaliatory strikes targeting areas in Kabul and Kandahar.

Although both nations announced a ceasefire on Wednesday evening, the situation remains tense. Afghan authorities have stated that they responded strongly to Pakistani strikes but agreed to the truce following mediation by Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has also hinted at possible Indian involvement, saying the country may now be facing “a two-front war.” The situation has plunged Islamabad into a state of deep anxiety as security concerns escalate along both its eastern and western borders.
