Strict Ban on Unauthorized Drone Flying in Basti Region, NSA and Gangster Act to Be Invoked
Basti, Uttar Pradesh – Sanjeev Tyagi, DIG of the Basti range (covering Basti, Siddharth Nagar, and Sant Kabir Nagar districts), has issued a stern warning against unauthorized drone operations in the region. From now on, anyone found flying a drone without prior permission will face strict legal action, including charges under the National Security Act (NSA) and the Gangster Act.
Key Directives and Measures
Severe Punishment: Individuals or organizations found operating drones without official consent will face charges under the Gangster Act and NSA. The drones involved will also be seized.
Compliance with Drone Regulations: The DIG has urged all citizens to strictly follow Uttar Pradesh drone rules.
Mandatory Permission: Before flying a drone for any event or purpose, prior permission from the local police station is essential.
Special Vigil in Border Areas: Extra monitoring will be conducted in Siddharth Nagar district, which shares a border with Nepal. Residents in border villages have been warned that violators will face immediate arrest and jail.
Drone Register: All police stations have been instructed to maintain a “drone register” recording full details and identification of drone owners.
Public Appeal: Citizens are encouraged to report any unauthorized drone activity to the nearest police station. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
Authorities have emphasized that the decision aims to strengthen security and prevent potential misuse of drones, which could be exploited for unlawful purposes. Officials believe that these measures will help curb criminal activities and maintain law and order in the region.
