A Singapore court delivered its final verdict on Wednesday regarding the death of renowned singer Zubeen Garg. Upholding the investigation by the Singapore Police Coast Guard (PCG), State Coroner Adam Nakhoda clarified that the singer’s death was not a conspiracy or murder, but rather an unfortunate ‘Accidental Drowning.’ The court completely dismissed all suspicions and allegations previously raised by Zubeen’s wife and fans regarding the investigation.
According to information, this tragic incident occurred on September 19, 2025, near Lazarus Island. The court found that the 52-year-old Zubeen Garg was in a state of significant intoxication at the time, which impaired his decision-making capacity.

Life Jacket Refusal: According to witness statements, people on board the yacht and the captain repeatedly requested him to wear a life jacket, but he flatly refused.
No Foul Play: The court confirmed that no one pushed him into the water, nor did the rescue divers attempt to cause him any harm.
Zubeen Garg had traveled to Singapore to participate in the celebrations marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore. This accident occurred just one day before his scheduled performance at the ‘North-East India Festival,’ leading to the cancellation of the entire event.
