‘Save Us from Netanyahu’: Israelis Urge Trump to End Gaza War

Tel Aviv, September 7, 2025 – Frustration with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war policies has pushed thousands of Israelis into the streets. On the night of September 6, demonstrators gathered outside the Israeli military headquarters in Tel Aviv, calling directly on U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene and bring the Gaza war to an end.

Reasons Behind the Protest

Carrying Israeli flags and placards with photos of hostages, protesters chanted slogans such as “Continuing the Gaza war will destroy Trump’s legacy” and “President Trump, rescue the hostages now!”

Many Israelis believe Netanyahu is unwilling to stop the fighting. According to reports, he has ordered the army to push further into the heart of Gaza City. Families of the hostages fear this move could endanger the lives of their loved ones. Demonstrators argue that only Trump has the leverage to pressure Netanyahu and secure a ceasefire.

Trump’s Role and Future Steps

During his presidential campaign, Trump promised he would end the Gaza war immediately after taking office. Yet, eight months into his second term, little progress has been achieved. On Friday, however, he stated that Washington is engaged in “very deep” negotiations with Hamas.

Meanwhile, weekly protests in Tel Aviv have grown larger, with increasing numbers of Israelis demanding a ceasefire agreement with Hamas to secure the hostages’ release. Surrounding the military headquarters and appealing directly to the U.S. president reflects the depth of public disillusionment and desperation in Israel.
