Saudi Arabia to Train 100,000 AI Warriors Under Vision 2030
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly transformed the world, influencing every sector from business to governance. Embracing this revolution, Saudi Arabia has launched an ambitious national program to train 100,000 citizens in AI and data skills, marking a major step toward its Vision 2030 goals.
According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the initiative aims to position the Kingdom as a global leader in artificial intelligence. The program, launched in collaboration with Incorta, a leading software development company, is described as the largest AI training initiative in the region so far.
The MCIT said this move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader upskilling strategy, which targets training one million citizens in AI through partnerships with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday that MCIT also launched a complementary program named “Mustaqbali”, aimed at providing AI skills to an additional 50,000 Saudi youth.
In an interview with Arab News, Osama Al-Qadi, CEO and co-founder of Incorta, said the initiative focuses on preparing Saudi citizens for future challenges. “While the younger generation is already familiar with existing AI technologies, our program is designed to expand their understanding beyond current developments,” Al-Qadi explained.
He added that participants will be trained in practical applications of AI, particularly in leveraging data for informed decision-making. “Our goal is to empower employees in ministries, government bodies, and private companies to use data effectively—supporting the Kingdom’s growth and its Vision 2030 objectives,” he said.
Safaa Al-Rasheed, Deputy Minister for Capacity Building and Future Affairs at MCIT, highlighted that the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s long-term commitment to inclusive growth. “Equipping our citizens—especially youth and women—with AI and data skills is essential for building a sustainable future,” she said. “By training 100,000 individuals, we are strengthening the national workforce, laying the foundation for sustainable development, and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in AI.”
