“Quiet Piggy” Trends on Social Media After Trump Scolds Reporter Over Epstein Questions

A fresh controversy involving U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked online debate as the phrase “Quiet Piggy” goes viral on social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter).

The trend began after a video surfaced from a November 14 White House press conference, where Trump was seen pointing at a female reporter who attempted to ask a question about the Jeffrey Epstein files. In the clip, Trump angrily tells her to “be quiet… be quiet,” but many online users misheard the phrase as “Quiet Piggy.” The misunderstanding quickly turned into a meme and started trending under the hashtag #QuietPiggy.

The situation escalated further after a similar incident on Air Force One last Friday. During a media interaction, when a journalist tried to inquire about the Epstein documents, Trump reportedly snapped at her, saying, “Shut up, you pig!” Social media erupted with criticism, calling the remark sexist and disrespectful.

A number of users condemned Trump’s outburst. One wrote sarcastically, “The President of the United States points his finger at a woman reporter and calls her ‘Quiet Piggy,’ and yet no one is demanding his removal from office?” Another user commented that misogyny is defined as hatred or prejudice against women, while others pointed out the irony of Trump—often criticized for his weight—calling someone a “pig.”

The controversy comes amid renewed attention on the Epstein investigation. On his Truth Social platform, Trump urged transparency, writing that America has “nothing to hide” and it’s “time to move past this Democratic hoax.” On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on whether to release all unclassified documents related to the Epstein probe. The bill would then move to the Senate before reaching the President for his signature.

Speaking in the Oval Office on Monday, Trump said he fully supports the release: “We’ll give them everything. Absolutely… the Senate, anyone who wants to look. But don’t talk about it too much—it’s really a Democrat problem. All of Epstein’s friends were Democrats.”
