Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in New Delhi on 4 December for a two-day official visit, and security agencies have been placed on high alert. While his complete travel itinerary has been finalized, officials have not disclosed details of his accommodation due to strict security protocols.
According to senior security sources, Putin will receive an extensive five-tier security cover throughout his stay in India. Preparations for this elaborate arrangement have already begun across the national capital.
As per a report by NDTV, Putin will be guarded jointly by the Federal Protective Service of Russia, India’s National Security Guard (NSG) commandos, sharpshooters, specialized drones, electronic jammers, and AI-driven surveillance systems, including Facial Recognition Cameras (FRC).
More than 40 Russian security officers have already reached Delhi. Along with NSG and Delhi Police teams, they are sanitizing every route Putin’s convoy is expected to take. Special drones will monitor his movement in real time from a dedicated control room. Multiple snipers will be positioned along key rooftops and strategic points.
Technologies deployed for the Russian President include:
AI monitoring systems
Facial recognition surveillance
Signal-blocking jammers
Specialized high-range drones
Encrypted communication networks
Officials confirm that the moment Putin lands in Delhi, the five-ring security grid will be activated.
The outer ring will be managed by NSG and Delhi Police personnel.
The inner layer will be controlled by Russia’s Presidential Security Service.
During Putin’s engagements with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s Special Protection Group (SPG)—responsible for PM’s security—will join the innermost perimeter.
Every officer involved in this operation must remain in continuous touch with the central control room.
The hotel where the Russian President will stay has undergone complete sanitisation. Russian security teams are also inspecting every venue on Putin’s schedule, including backup and contingency locations.
Apart from planned sites, several random locations have also been identified and checked to eliminate any risk.
Putin is visiting India at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi to attend the annual India–Russia summit.
Key engagements include:
December 4 (Thursday evening): Private dinner hosted by Prime Minister Modi
December 5:
Ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Visit to Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi
Bilateral summit with PM Modi at Hyderabad House
Participation in a program at Bharat Mandapam
Attending a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu
One of the key highlights of Putin’s security arrangements is his armored state limousine, the Aurus Senat, which is being flown in specially from Moscow. The same vehicle was used earlier this year when Putin and PM Modi traveled together during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in China.
