Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon shooting: Canada rocked as Rohit Godara gang claims responsibility

Canada’s Punjabi music community is in shock after rising singer Teji Kahlon was shot in an apparent gang-related attack. The assault, which took place earlier this week, has been claimed by the Rohit Godara gang, one of the most notorious organized crime networks with links to multiple shootings across Canada and India.

According to reports, Mahinder Saran, an associate of the Rohit Godara gang, posted a message on social media claiming direct responsibility for the attack. In the post, the gang stated that Kahlon was shot in the stomach as a warning for allegedly supplying weapons to their rivals and leaking sensitive information.

“This was just a warning shot,” the message reportedly read. “If Teji Kahlon or anyone else continues to help our enemies, they will face worse consequences.”

The post has triggered widespread concern about the escalating gang wars among Indian-origin groups in Canada. Police have yet to release an official update on Kahlon’s medical condition, but sources indicate he remains hospitalized.

This attack adds to the growing list of violent incidents targeting Punjabi entertainers and business figures in Canada. Recently, a similar gunfire incident occurred outside a restaurant owned by comedian Kapil Sharma, raising fears that artists of Indian descent are being drawn into an increasingly dangerous web of organized crime.

Security experts warn that Canadian law enforcement is struggling to contain cross-border gang activity, which has intensified due to long-standing feuds that began in Punjab. The Rohit Godara gang, reportedly operating from abroad, has claimed several high-profile attacks in the past year.

As investigations continue, fans and members of the Punjabi community are urging authorities to take stronger action to protect artists and dismantle the growing criminal networks that threaten both safety and cultural freedom.
