Punjabi Businessman Darshan Singh Sahsi Shot Dead Outside His Home in Abbotsford, Canada
A wave of grief has swept through the Punjabi community in Canada following the fatal shooting of businessman Darshan Singh Sahsi in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The well-known entrepreneur was gunned down by unidentified assailants outside his home early Tuesday morning.

Originally from Rajgarh village near Doraha in Punjab, India, Darshan Singh Sahsi had built a successful life in Canada over several decades. A self-made entrepreneur, he owned and operated a large textile recycling business in Maple Ridge, BC, which provided employment to numerous members of the South Asian community.
Sahsi was known for his generosity and community service, contributing to multiple charitable initiatives both in Punjab and Gujarat, India. He was admired for his humility, strong cultural values, and commitment to helping others.
The tragic killing has deeply shaken the local Punjabi diaspora in Abbotsford and across British Columbia. Many community leaders have called for swift action and justice, urging authorities to bring the perpetrators to account.
The Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation and has appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around Blue Ridge Drive between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. to come forward.
