Shocking revelations have surfaced in the daylight murder case of Chamanpreet Singh, a property dealer residing in Kubheri, Mohali. In a joint operation, the Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Haryana Police arrested two shooters following an encounter in Kaithal. The arrested accused have been identified as Rajan alias Piyush Pahalwan (Ferozepur) and Pritam Shah (Nawanshahr).
According to police sources, the entire murder plot was masterminded by gangster Gaurav Patial.
The Arrival: The main shooter, Rajan, specifically traveled from Malaysia to India on January 15 to execute this crime.
The Route: He entered Punjab via Nepal and had been conducting recce on Chamanpreet for the past two months while staying in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Kaithal.
The Weaponry: The weapons used in the incident were smuggled from across the border, and the shooters had reportedly practiced with them beforehand to ensure no lapses during the execution.
Chamanpreet was aware of the threat to his life and was constantly trying to evade danger. The shooters reportedly followed him for five days before finally gunning him down outside a gym in Chandigarh on March 18.
The Getaway: After the murder, the suspects used a clever escape tactic—wearing helmets and fleeing on bicycles to Mohali, where they abandoned the cycles.
The Chase: They then hitchhiked towards Haryana, but using technical surveillance, the police chased them for 130 kilometers before cornering them.
Tragically, even two days after the incident, Chamanpreet Singh’s autopsy has not yet been conducted; the family is expected to make a decision regarding this today. In a heartbreaking turn, the victim’s mother is severely ill, and the family has not yet informed her of her son’s death to protect her health.
Current Status: The police are also investigating the role of Sahil (Kaithal), who allegedly arranged the shooters’ accommodation. AGTF SP Bikram Brar stated that both shooters were injured during the encounter and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
