PM Modi Distributes 51,000 Appointment Letters at 15th Rozgar Mela

In a significant event aimed at fostering youth employment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed 51,236 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various central government departments. The 15th Rozgar Mela, which was held virtually across 47 locations nationwide, marks another milestone in the government’s efforts to create sustainable job opportunities for young Indians.

PM Modi Applauds Youth’s Role in India’s Development

While addressing the gathered candidates, PM Modi expressed his congratulations, highlighting the vital role they would play in India’s progress. “Your new responsibilities are crucial in bolstering India’s economy, security, and infrastructure. Your commitment will accelerate our journey towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India),” the Prime Minister stated.

He further emphasized the importance of youth as the driving force behind national growth, noting that their dedication was key to India becoming a global leader.

Focus on Self-Employment and Digital Transformation

The Prime Minister also shed light on India’s ambitious initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India, which are offering fresh avenues for innovation and self-employment. According to PM Modi, India’s youth have been at the forefront of digital transformation, with initiatives like UPI, ONDC, and GeM revolutionizing the way the country operates digitally.

He also lauded the growth of India’s manufacturing sector, particularly in industries like automobiles and footwear, which have seen remarkable success under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The manufacturing mission, introduced in the 2025-26 Budget, is expected to further enhance these achievements.

Infrastructure Growth and Women Empowerment

PM Modi also highlighted the substantial progress in India’s infrastructure, particularly in the inland water transport sector. From a modest 18 million tonnes in 2014, cargo via waterways has surged to 145 million tonnes this year, with the operational network expanding to nearly 5,000 km.

Women empowerment was another key focus in PM Modi’s speech. He cited the recent UPSC results, where women topped the exams, and praised the rising participation of women in government services.

AI and Youth Empowerment

Looking towards the future, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the digital content industry. He encouraged the youth to participate in workshops that will enhance their understanding of AI, thus providing them with the tools to lead India’s digital revolution.

PM Modi also called on the youth to contribute to the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, symbolizing gratitude towards their mothers by planting trees.

A Broader Strategy for Employment

The Rozgar Mela initiative, launched in October 2022, continues to be a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to provide meaningful employment to the youth. Over 10 lakh individuals have been appointed to permanent government jobs under this initiative. With each edition, more opportunities are being created, showcasing the government’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment.
