PAU ORGANIZES FIELD DAY ON KINNOW CULTIVATION AT MS RANDHAWA FRS, GANGIAN
LUDHIANA, AUGUST 25, 2025:
The Department of Fruit Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a field day on “Kinnow Cultivation and Distribution of Agro-chemicals” at MS Randhawa Fruit Research Station, Gangian, Hoshiarpur under SCSP component of ICAR-AICRP on Fruits. The objective of the training was to acquaint the fruit growers with the latest scientific technologies regarding cultivation and management of fruit drop in citrus. A total of 20 fruit growers participated in the training camp.
On this occasion, various technical lectures were organized for the benefit of the trainees.
Dr Anita Arora, Principal Plant Pathologist (Fruits), Department of Fruit Science, PAU, in her lecture, discussed in detail regarding management of pathological fruit drop in citrus and spray schedule to be followed by the citrus growers around the year.
Dr Sandeep Singh delivered his lecture on integrated pest management of fruit fly which is a threat to citrus growers of the Kandi area. Dr Singh advised the trainees to follow the management practices recommended by PAU.
Dr Sumanjit Kaur, Fruit Scientist, FRS, Gangian, spoke on cultivation of citrus fruit crop. She thanked all the experts for delivering informative lectures and trainees for listening attentively to the proceedings of this training and further advised them to remain in contact with the PAU experts for timely guidance. Small implements, fungicides and PAU fruit fly traps were also distributed among the farmers during this camp.
