Pakistan Reveals Imran Khan’s Whereabouts; What the Jail Administration Said About Rumors of His Death
Amid widespread rumors about the death of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, the jail administration has issued an official statement clarifying the situation. Authorities have confirmed that Imran Khan is alive, healthy, and currently lodged in Adiala Jail.
The rumors surfaced on Wednesday, shortly after Khan’s sisters alleged that he had been assaulted outside the prison.
According to Gulf News, an official from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail stated:
“There is no truth to the reports claiming he has been moved from the prison. He is completely healthy and is receiving full medical care.”
Officials further emphasized that the speculation surrounding his health is baseless and that he is being closely monitored by medical staff.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, also commented on the situation. He claimed that Imran Khan is being provided with facilities inside jail that he “never received during his time in custody earlier.”
“You should see the menu of the food served to him. Even five-star hotels do not offer such meals,” Asif said. He asserted that Khan has been given a television with access to all channels, as well as exercise equipment.
Asif contrasted Khan’s jail conditions with his own past experience, saying:
“We slept on cold floors, ate jail food, and in January, we were given only two blankets and were left without water.”
Imran Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023, facing multiple charges including corruption. Before his arrest, he was removed from office in April 2022 through a no-confidence vote.
