Odisha Tragedy: Horrific Hospital Fire in Cuttack Claims 10 Patients’ Lives, Compensation & Probe Announced

Heartbreaking news from Odisha’s Cuttack city. Massive fire erupted early Monday in SCB Medical College & Hospital’s Trauma Care ICU. At least 10 patients dead so far; 11 staff members severely burned rescuing patients.
Incident occurred between 2:30-3:00 AM during critical care. Initial cause: short circuit. Chaos ensued; fire brigade teams struggled before controlling blaze. Hospital staff/police shifted 23 patients to other wards, but several succumbed during transfer/treatment.
Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling visited immediately, checked victims. CM expressed deep grief, announced ₹25 lakh compensation per deceased family. Govt ordered judicial inquiry to uncover lapses, fix accountability. Hospital admin directed to ensure best treatment for injured.
