Passengers in Delhi-NCR will soon have a new and more convenient travel option. The much-awaited Noida International Airport at Jewar will begin operations on October 30, 2025, providing direct connectivity to seven major Indian cities along with select international destinations.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced the launch date on Wednesday, bringing relief to travelers who previously depended solely on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Initially, the airport will operate around 30 flights daily, including services to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dehradun, and Haldibari. Passengers traveling to these destinations will no longer need to travel to Delhi airport.
Booking for flights has already opened. In the first phase, 25 domestic and 3 international flights will operate from Noida airport, along with two dedicated cargo services. Officials confirmed that the number of flights will soon increase to around 65 daily operations.
Low-cost carrier IndiGo Airlines will operate international flights to Dubai, Singapore, and Zurich from the new airport. This marks a significant step in providing Uttar Pradesh and NCR with direct global connectivity while reducing passenger load at Delhi airport.
Construction of the airport began in 2018, and more than 90% of the work is now complete.
The runway and airside infrastructure are nearly ready.
The official inauguration will take place on October 30, with full-scale commercial operations expected to start by mid-November 2025.
Phase one will have the capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually, with cargo operations starting as early as September 2025.
The project is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (YAPL), led by Swiss company Zurich Airport International AG, with a total investment of ₹29,650 crore.
The new airport is strategically located near Greater Noida, which frequently hosts large-scale events such as the Auto Expo and the International Trade Fair, making it a major boost for both travel and trade.
With enhanced last-mile connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway, RRTS, and proposed high-speed rail links, Noida International Airport is expected to emerge as a major aviation hub, easing congestion at Delhi airport and fueling Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth.
