Users on social media have been quick to react. Some have questioned whether Sidhu is rejoining the BJP, while others have wished him well for a “fresh beginning.” A few speculated whether he might return to the IPL as part of a coaching staff, launch his own political party, or revive his role in the Congress. Many are asking whether Sidhu is gearing up for an active political comeback or moving away from Congress.
In his post, Sidhu wrote:
“I am going to hold a press conference to mark the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The press conference will be held tomorrow, April 30, at 11 AM at my residence, 110 Holy City, Amritsar. All journalists are invited.”
Navjot Singh Sidhu quit the BJP in 2016 and joined the Congress in 2017. He contested from the Amritsar East seat and served as a minister in the Amarinder Singh-led Congress government. However, in 2019, a rift developed between Sidhu and Captain Amarinder, leading to Sidhu’s resignation from the cabinet. Since then, he has remained politically inactive, though he never formally left the Congress.
