Moscow, October 3, 2025 – In a startling admission, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, a key NATO leader, has acknowledged that Russia currently holds the upper hand in the Ukraine conflict. Speaking at the European Political Community summit in Copenhagen, Tusk warned that if the situation continues, Europe could face devastating consequences.
Tusk noted that Russian forces possess a stronger willpower and readiness to sacrifice compared to European nations supporting Ukraine. Pointing to the psychological edge, he said:
“I say they are ready to fight. They are ready to sacrifice, and they are ready to face any outcome.”
According to Tusk, Russia’s leadership under President Vladimir Putin is more decisive and cohesive, while European countries often delay or fail to make the right decisions. This, he emphasized, gives Russia a clear strategic advantage.
Tusk expressed concern that if Russia manages to defeat Ukraine, it will inevitably expand its influence into Eastern Europe.
“I have no doubt that if they win in Ukraine, the future will be that my country will be destroyed, and then Europe itself will be destroyed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed suggestions that Moscow intends to attack NATO countries. He argued that those spreading such claims misunderstand the balance between domestic issues and international politics. Putin also rejected the U.S. portrayal of Russia as a “paper tiger,” insisting instead that the Russian military is among the most formidable in the world.
